Elimination of Phobias and Fears

Most phobias are rooted in a misunderstanding from our childhood, because children don't always have the logical tools and information to understand the meaning of fear.  If they see their parent screaming at a spider, they will almost certainly make an unconscious decision that the insect is dangerous and they must avoid it at all costs! The reason for this is that, as children, we pick up patterns of behaviour from our parents and loved ones.

One of the most common reasons people seek Hypnotherapy is to help them overcome their phobias.  The most regular of these are generally fear of flying, fear of water, or fear of spiders. 

Hypnotherapy is very useful at helping us come to terms with our fears and phobias, such as flying, water, spiders, public speaking, or enclosed spaces. It accelerates the natural ability we have to overcome our irrational fears. It does this by utilising certain techniques which can help eliminate the anxiety and learn new patterns of behaviour. 

Sometimes, a phobia might be less straightforward and more disruptive, such as social phobia, or agoraphobia, or even Panophobia (fear of everything).  More sessions would be needed, but the treatment would involve learning new habits and new methods of relaxation to get your back on track.
